Game Recap

The Timberwolves hosted South Aiken on Friday night. The Timberwolves used a big second quarter to take a 21-14 lead into halftime. Aveon Smith, Dawson Sams and Albert Hope all added touchdown runs to give the Timberwolves a seven point lead.

In the second half, it was all South Aiken in the 3rd and early 4th quarter. The Thoroughbreds scored 20 unanswered points on three touchdown runs. With 9 minutes left in the 4th, the Timberwolves started to make a run. Caleb Sheldon connected with Keon Clary to shrink the gap to 34-27. The two would hook up again with less than two minutes to bring the Timberwolves back within one. Coach Howell made the decision to go for two and put the Timberwolves ahead with less than 90 seconds to play. The Timberwolves converted as Sheldon connected with Douglass Summers to give the Timberwolves a 35-34 lead. LJ Gray picked off a late pass to seal the come from behind win.

The Timberwolves are now 2-0 on the season. Timberwolves will host Keenan High School September 8th at 7:30pm at the Wolf Den.
