Multiple Teams · Timberwolves Shutout Blythewood

On Friday night the White Knoll Varsity Football team traveled to Blythewood for a key region match-up. Both teams were looking to improve their playoff chances with a win.

In the first half, both offenses struggled to move the ball as the defenses had the upper hand. The Timberwolves used a 25 yard field goal from Amar Omerbasic to take a 3 – 0 lead into half time.

In the second half, the Timberwolves found the endzone twice as Aveon Smith found Clayton Lindsay for an eight and thirty-two yard touchdown passes.

On the night, the Timberwolves defense held Blythewood to under 100 yards of total offense. Nine defenders contributed with a tackle for a loss and Braden Nanney, Timothy Jamison, and Dawson Sams led the defense in tackles on the night. Blythewood only converted on 2 third downs all night and were 0-5 on 4th down.

The Timberwolves are not 5-4, 2-3 and host rival Lexington next Friday. White Knoll can secure a spot in the playoffs with a win next week as the regions’ number three seed.
