The JV football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 27-21 win over Clover. Maurice Jones had touchdown runs of 32,8, and 9 yards and Andew Millhouse added a 23 yard run to cap the scoring. The defense was tough all night and was led by Shaheem Haltiwanger who made two big tackles
On Tuesday afternoon, the Timberwolves swim team lost to Irmo 216 – 113. Despite the defeat, the Timberwolves continue to improve. The Timberwolves recorded 29 personal records against the Yellow Jackets, and times continue to improve. Thanks to all the parents and volunteers who helped run another successful, well run meet.
The Varsity Volleyball team finished 1-1 on Tuesday night at a Tri-Match with Lugoff-Elgin and Camden. Lugoff-Elgin defeated the Timberwolves in 2 sets:17-25 and 13-25. The Timberwolves bounced back and defeated Camden 25-13, 25-11. The Junior Varsity lost to Lugoff-Elgin and Camden to finish 0-2.
At the Chapin meet on Tuesday, our Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls both finished 5th out of 10 teams. Bryan Grumbach was the overall winner for the boys with Johnny Clemens in 8th place. White Knoll Middle School defeated Pleasant Hill Middle in football 36-18 on Wednesday night. The Warhawks open the season 1-0.
On Tuesday night, the Timberwolves defeated Dreher 5 to 1. Winners included Renee Hooks, Bri Hall, Kristen Anderson, Holly Smith and Alaina Spigner. The team is currently 4 and 0 and opens up region play next Tuesday at Irmo.
The WKHS Girls Golf team visited the 2013 6th place state finishing golf team of South Aiken at Woodside Plantation yesterday. South Aiken with all returning members of their 2013 team defeated WKHS 165 to 194. The WKHS girls team will return to Woodside Plantation on Monday for the South Aiken Tournament.
