Hannah Goodwin was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Saturday, driving in six on three hits to lead Timberwolves past Chapin 14-2 on Saturday. Goodwin drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the third, and a grand slam in the fifth.
Timberwolves secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. Libby Williams, Syvannah Workman, Lexi Winters, Shelby Davies, and Goodwin each had RBIs in the frame.
In the first inning, Timberwolves got their offense started. Goodwin drove in one when she singled.
Timberwolves notched eight runs in the fifth inning. Timberwolves put the pressure on, lead by singles by Workman, Winters, and Davies, a walk by Williams, and a home run by Goodwin.
Andrea Lyon led the Timberwolves to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out nine and walking zero.
Caitlin Toole led things off on the hill for Chapin. She allowed seven hits and six runs over one inning, walking one. Cameron Criminger, Tracy Truesdale, and Savannah Turner each contributed in relief for Chapin.
Timberwolves smacked three home runs on the day. Lyon had a homer in the third inning. Goodwin had a dinger in the third and fifth innings.
Timberwolves had 12 hits in the game. Goodwin, Ginna Leaphart, Lyon, and Davies all collected multiple hits for Timberwolves. Leaphart and Goodwin all had three hits to lead Timberwolves.
