Hall Of Fame Gala Tickets Available

The State: Four Midlands wrestlers win state championships

Four Midlands wrestlers win state championships STAFF REPORTS (The State) Porter won a 3-2 decision over River Bluff’s Ben Emery to win the Class 5A 145-pound championship. The two had split their two matches during the season. Porter finished the season 55-5. Click here to read more  

Porter Wins State Championship!

White Knoll Senior wrestler Selwyn Porter claimed the 145 pound 5A state title  after going 3-0 on the weekend.  In the first round of the SCHSL Individual State Tournament, Selwyn  defeated Austin Lipponcot of Easley by major decision 19-5 to advance to the semi finals.   Next up, Selwyn wrestled the Upper State Champion Derek Covington

Wrestlers Qualify for State

Congratulations to senior Selwyn Porter and sophomore Chris Kirk for qualifying for the state individual championships this weekend in Anderson.  Kirk had an overall record of 36-15 with 16 pins and is ranked #7 in the state by SCMAT. Porter is a N/S all star and went 52-5 this year with 26 pins, 4 tech

Wrestling wins Battle at the Castle Duals

Wrestling Update

Wrestling competed at the Airport Duals on December 23rd. They went 4-1 for the event.  Lost to the the Champs of the Tournament Indian Land 39-21.  They defeated Stall 72-4, Aiken 58-12, Swansea 39-31, and Airport 45-24. Wrestling Update

The varsity wrestling team competed at the Silver Fox Invitational this past Saturday.  We had a pretty successful day despite the fact we were missing several starters.  The team finished in 5th place out of 16 teams.  Below are wrestlers that placed at the event. 1st place 120lbs Chris Kirk 2nd place 220lbs Thomas Backus 3rd

Our wrestling program had a big weekend.   Our varsity team traveled to River Bluff for a pre-season dual event and went 3-1 on the day.   We started off with a loss to Lugoff-Elgin, then turned it around beating Midland Valley 40-30, Sumter 57-15, and finished with a 58-21 victory over Blythewood.   Individual wrestlers that went

Wrestling season starts Monday, October 30th.  Practices are Monday through Friday 4:15pm-6:15pm.   Make sure you have an updated physical on file and Coach Kimrey is aware of your intentions to wrestle for WKHS this year if he doesn’t already know.  You can contact him via email at kkimrey@lexington1.net or find him in the gym area.
